Kluang Airport, Airfield
Kluang, formerly Keluang, is a town in Kluang District, Johor, Malaysia. Kluang was founded in 1915 as the administrative capital of central Johor by the British. It is located in the centre of the state and is within 90 minutes of all major urban areas of Johor. Kluang, combined with Batu Pahat, encompasses central Johor with a market catchment of over 700,000. Over the 20th century, Kluang's economy transitioned from rubber to palm oil and now has some of Malaysia's largest organic farms. The industrial sector has also grown significantly with multinational investment and a critical mass of tile manufacturers enabling the district to be called the 'tile capital of Malaysia'. The organic farming sector has also boosted Kluang as an ecotourism destination with key farms such as Zenxin, UK Agro and Kahang Organic Rice Farm. Klang or Kelang, officially Royal City of Klang (), is a city, royal city and former capital of the state of Selangor, Malaysia. It is located within the Klang District. It was the civil capital of Selangor in an earlier era prior to the emergence of Kuala Lumpur and the current capital, Shah Alam. The Port of Port Klang, which is located in the Klang District, is the 12th busiest transshipment port and the 12th busiest container port in the world. Gunung Lambak
Mount Lambak ( meaning 'Flea Mountain'') is an inselberg in Kluang District, Johor, Malaysia. The summit is 510 m above sea level. Gunung Lambak is the ''Hausberg'' of Kluang. Mount Lambak Recreational Forest It has been developed as a recreational and tourist attraction called ''Mount Lambak Recreational Forest''. Pathways and wooden bridges make it relatively easy to climb to the summit, and a picnic spot at the base of the mountain has car parking, benches, a small children's playground and toilets. There is also chalet accommodation, camping facilities and a swimming pool. Mammals found on Gunung Lambak include the Long-tailed macaque, Pig-tailed macaque and Dusky leaf monkey. Broadcasting mast The television station RTM completed a transmitter on Gunung Lambak in 1969 to provide good reception in Kluang. The Malaysian Army Aviation () is the army aviation branch of the Malaysian Army. Currently equipped with helicopters in the liaison, transport and light attack roles. General Yamashita
was a Japanese general in the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II. Yamashita led Japanese forces during the invasion of Malaya and Battle of Singapore. His conquest of Malaya and Singapore in 70 days earned him the sobriquet "The Tiger of Malaya" and led to the British Prime Minister Winston Churchill calling the ignominious fall of Singapore to Japan the "worst disaster" and "largest capitulation" in British military history. He was assigned to defend the Philippines from the advancing Allies later in the war. Although he was unable to prevent the superior Allied forces from advancing, despite dwindling supplies and Allied guerrilla action, he was able to hold on to part of Luzon until after the formal surrender of Japan in August 1945. The Batu Pahat District is a district in the state of Johor, Malaysia. It lies southeast of Muar, southwest of Kluang, northwest of Pontian, south of Segamat and Tangkak District.
